SKIN DETOX JUICE

Makes 1 (12-ounce) serving Prep time: 15 minutes

Orange foods, like sweet potatoes, are high in beta-carotene and help combat rough and dry skin. The greens in this juice help your body detox. Antioxidants in zucchini protect skin cells from premature aging, lighten the skin, and improve the overall health of skin, hair, and nails. You can drink this rich, sweet juice as a part of your regular beauty routine.

1 cup spinach

1 cup cubed sweet potato

3 celery ribs

1 zucchini

1 cucumber

½ lemon

1.Wash all the ingredients.

2.Peel the sweet potato and cut into small cubes.

3.Trim the ends from the celery, zucchini, and cucumber, then cut into 4-inch pieces.

4.Peel the lemon half and cut into quarters.

5.Place a pitcher under the juicer’s spout to collect the juice.

6.Feed each ingredient through the juicer’s intake tube in the order listed.

7.When the juice stops flowing, remove the pitcher and stir the juice.

8.Serve immediately.

BEAUTY TIP: Buy an extra sweet potato to make a conditioner for dry hair. Peel and boil the potato, then mash it up with 1 cup yogurt and 1 tablespoon honey. Apply to hair for 15 minutes, then rinse.
